Overview of Phawuo

It’s a monophonic virtual-analog synth featuring “dirty” oscillators for experimentation. For bass sounds and special effects, this is a good choice. The first version was created for the iPad, but version 3 is now accessible for iOS and macOS. Presets can be transferred between devices.

This app can be used as a standalone application or an AudioUnit v3 component. Please remember that this audio unit only works with hosts that support AUv3.

• Two ADSR envelopes for amplitude and filter
• Two special oscillators. Each one has two modes: playing more rough (though antialiased waveforms with inharmonicity in higher pitches) or “cheezy” sound. Plays sawtooth / square waveforms and is capable of pulse width modulation.
• Feedback ring modulation and distortion for each oscillator
• Effects section: two channels of delay + frequency shifter with feedback with some flexible routing, also includes basic reverb
